OneSeed is focused on developing long term relationships with teachers, administrators, and schools in the goal of creating sustainable change. Teachers are partnered with a OneSeed Professional Trainer for a year-long training program and taken through three phases of learning; Building Relationships, Classroom Management, and Teaching Methods.
Teachers receive training on how to identify struggling and advanced learners in their classrooms. With the assistance of the OneSeed Differentiation Specialist, schools will develop a Special Education Department to help meet the needs of all their learners for
years to come.
Teachers receive IT Integration training that enables them to integrate technology into every subject area. Teachers learn how to use technology to prepare lessons, track student growth, and communicate effectively with colleagues and parents.
Cultural Education Project
OneSeed creates opportunities for schools in Ghana and the US to participate in a Sister School Partnership. Students in each school take their learning to another level as they teach their sister school about their own country and culture. These projects create an environment for global minded, student-led learning while meeting state
and national standards.
Leadership and Service
OneSeed, alongside partner school administration, determines the primary resource needs for the sister school in Ghana. OneSeed Leadership Clubs in the stateside schools work with OneSeed to raise funds to provide these resources. Students in the OneSeed Leadership Club gain leadership skills as they plan and coordinate fundraisers in their community. Our goal is to help students enhance their community service skills and practice positive global citizenship.
In Partnership with City Hearts Africa
We are very excited to be partnering with City Hearts Africa to implement their Emerging Voices Educational Pack into our teacher training program. City Hearts Africa is an independent NGO founded in 2015 form City Hearts UK, a charity that exists to help those whose lives have been torn apart by Human Trafficking and life controlling issues.
This education pack covers a broad span of material, ranging from creative arts workshops to heritage site visits, designed to educate young people on historical slavery and Human Trafficking in Ghana. Students in Basic 6 will teach their communities what they learned through creative arts in an effort to bring awareness to the issues in order to prevent human trafficking in Ghana.
In Partnership with Start From Ghana Foundation
OneSeed is so grateful to be partnering with Start From Ghana Foundation to bring their Sisterhood Program into our partner schools. This program empowers young women by creating an open space for discussion around the topics that are essential for young ladies like menstrual hygiene, mental health, and sex education. Girls also receive menstrual hygiene packs. The cost of sanitary items, and a lack of menstrual hygiene education leads to young ladies missing up to four months of school per academic year.
